You might associate occupation with work, but occupation is anything that keeps you busy during the day. Occupational therapy helps you develop the skills you need to live an active and fulfilling life. Occupational therapy focuses on a child’s fine motor skills, self-help skills, and sensory development. At Stepping Stone Kids Therapy our therapists are trained to evaluate each child, and develop a treatment plan to help the child reach their goals.

Speech language Pathologists (SLPs) work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children. Speech disorders occur when a person has difficulty producing speech sounds correctly or fluently (e.g., stuttering is a form of disfluency) or has problems with his or her voice or resonance.

•Articulation problems: Not speaking clearly and making errors in sounds.
•Fluency problems: Trouble with the flow of speech, such as stuttering.
•Resonance or voice problems: Trouble with voice pitch, volume and quality.
•Receptive and expressive language disorders, such as difficulties with sentence structure, vocabulary, following instructions or verbal expression
